I wanted some period wheels, as I never really liked the 4 spoke laser alloys that came with the Capri when I bought it. There were a few other options that I liked such as 4 spoke Revolutions or Starmags - but I think they suit a black Capri better. I might still get the original steels banded at some point as well, as I liked that idea.

This is how it was looking before:

First was the wheels. I was after a set of 7J's which I found on the retrorides forum for 50:

Next was a test fit, just to make sure they did actually fit.

Test fitting the wheels

I did toy with the idea of spraying the wheels myself, but as one had a slightly dented rim, I decided to get them sent off to be refurbished/straightened instead. This came to 175 but did include fitting/balancing of the tyres afterwards.

I went for 205/60 R13 tyres in the end, as I like think they look better with a bigger sidewall, and I already knew they would fit without rubbing.

The final thing was to get some new wheel nuts - as the ones that came with the wheels were UNF rather than Metric. Speedshack is the place for these - but apprently there are two different diameters that were used, so they needed the measurements to supply the correct ones.
